Warwick Raymond Ramsay
Warwick Raymond Ramsay passed away May 29, 2016 in Medford, Oregon. Warwick was born February 26, 1929 to David Livingston and Doris Allen Ramsay in South Shield, England.He worked in the British Merchant Navy until the age of 28, when he emigrated to the USA. He met his wife, Caritas, on the New Amsterdam while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. They married in October of 1957 and settled first in Miami, then soon after in San Pedro, California. Warwick enjoyed a long career with the City of Los Angeles as a Building and Safety Inspector. His most notable projects were the L.A. Convention Center and the renovation of the Richard J. Riordan Central Library in downtown Los Angeles. In his free time, Warwick enjoyed writing, as well as single-handedly remodeling and building extensions on his home. A few years after his retirement, Warwick and Cari moved to Medford, Oregon. He became active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church serving as a lector and an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.Warwick will be missed by his wife of 59 years, Caritas Maria; his children, Christopher M., Kim (Kimberly), and Karen (Stephane); his grandchildren, Christopher C., Sarah, Claire, Jacob, and Meg; his brother, Alan; and his nieces and nephews.A memorial service for Warwick will be held at 10:00 a.m. July 20, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a graveside service at Perl Funeral Home and Memorial Park to follow.
