She spent more than 30 years as a devoted and caring special education teacher in elementary schools throughout southern Oregon touching the lives of countless children and families. Lenore also belonged to several sewing and craft groups where she created beautiful quilts and pillows. Lenore will also be terribly missed by her many students and friends, all of whom were fortunate to have experienced her genuine sense of humor, honesty, and thoughtfulness. The following poem by Edgar A. Guest, chosen by her mother, Dorothy, aptly describes how Lenore lived her life. "I'd like to think when life is done That I had filled a needed post, That here and there I'd paid my fare With more than idle talk and boast: That I had taken gifts divine, The breath of life and manhood fine, And tried to use them now and thenIn service of my fellow men."No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made in Lenore's name to Sanctuary One animal sanctuary at sanctuaryone.org.
