Caroline Templin Finch
Caroline Templin Finch, 91, of Medford, Ore., passed away June 25, 2016, at Rogue Regional Medical Center. She was active right up to the end, wearing her pedometer and logging her daily miles until the day before she entered the hospital.
Lighthearted, outgoing, and a friend to all, Caroline was a deeply spiritual person whose life reflected a constant search for truth. She combined an appetite for new-age exploration—meditation retreats, drum circles, goddess workshops—with timeless, unswerving compassion for others.
Caroline was born in Patricia, Alberta, Canada, and raised in Montana. She built a beautiful and rewarding life with her husband of 66 years, Barden Finch. They raised their family in Palo Alto, Calif., before moving to the Rogue Valley Manor in 2004.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Barden; her brother, Bill Templin of Medford; children, Richard Hancock of Carrollton, Mo., Zoe Laidlaw of Ashland, and Peter Finch of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Another daughter, Delsie Watson, passed away in 1973.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to the Rogue Valley Manor Foundation's Fairy Godmother Fund, providing scholarships for economically challenged young women:
