William Henry Kneebone
Lifelong Ashland resident William Henry Kneebone passed away July 5, 2016. Henry was born August 27, 1921, at the family home on Wimer Street, shortly after his parents had moved via wagon to town from northern California.
His family purchased property in the Wrights Creek area where Henry lived his entire life, building his own home on Orchard Street in the early 1950s. He worked alongside his father tending their peach and apple orchards and a strawberry field. Henry graduated from Ashland High School in 1939, and later became a welder working in many of the local mills. He had two daughters, Ila and Ethel. He moved to Brookdale Senior Living in early 2015, where he passed away peacefully with his favorite caregivers at his side.
A memorial will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Brookdale, 548 N. Main, Ashland, in the multi-purpose room on the 1st floor. Henry will be buried alongside his parents, daughter Ethel, and an infant son, who predeceased him, at Mountain View Cemetery. Daughter Ila Kneebone of Berkley, Calif. survives. Family and friends especially thank the Brookdale aides for their kind and loving care.
