Darrell Monroe Carr
Darrell Monroe Carr, 57, passed away July 10, 2016 at his home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He grew up on and farmed the family's fifth-generation Century Farm in Fern Valley east of Phoenix.Active in 4-H and FFA at Phoenix High School, he earned an American Farmer Degree. He spent many years working part-time at local farm stores while farming, and later farmed full time. He raised and sold apples and other fruits and vegetables at the Grants Pass and Medford Growers Markets for over 25 years, in addition to raising sheep, goats, beef cattle, and hay.He served the community as President of the Jackson County Wool Pool, a member of the Jackson County Animal Control Advisory Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors of Grange Co-op.He is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Patrick; daughter, Rachel; parents, Robert and Karen (Olson) Carr; brother, Dale (Ken); sister, Cyndi Rich (John); parents-in-law, Don and Darlene Loper; and nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16th at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel.
