James 'Jack' Riley Fuller
May 8, 1924 - July 6, 2016
James "Jack" Riley Fuller, 92, passed away peacefully July 6, 2016 in Medford, Ore. He was born May 8, 1924, the son of Elzy and Florence Fuller (both deceased) in Mulberry, Ark. In heaven, Jack reunites with his wife of 67 years, Jeannie; his parents; and his sister, Virginia Carlino (Sam – deceased.)
Before moving to Oregon in 1994, Jack lived with Jeannie in California's Bay Area for over 45 years, where together they raised their six children. Prior to his 28-year tenure with PG&E, Jack proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Edward C. Daly (DE-17.) Together, in retirement with Jeannie, he enjoyed living at The Suites in Grants Pass. After Jeannie’s passing in September 2015, Jack continued living at The Suites where he became a recognizable figure.
Always a country boy, he loved nothing more than to chew his tobacco and watch the ball game. He leaves unforgettable memories behind for his sister, Kate Lovett (Earl – deceased) of Santa Clara, Calif.; and his six children, son, Dennis Fuller (Terri) of Roseville, Calif; son, Tom Fuller of Grants Pass; daughter, Julie Fuller-Cavener (Ken) of Grants Pass; daughter, Lorie Godrich (Tony) of Livermore, Calif.; son, Jamie Fuller of Grants Pass; and son, Jody Fuller (Darci) of San Jose, Calif. Additionally, he will be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
A veteran’s ceremony honoring Jack’s life and military service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in honor of James Fuller, to GP VFW Post 2302, PO Box 686, Grants Pass, Ore. 97526 (attn: Chuck DeLore.)
