Evelyn Lou Popson
July 1, 1943 - July 30, 2016
Evelyn Lou Popson went peacefully to sleep in the Lord Saturday, July 30, 2016 after a one-year battle with breast cancer.
“Evie” to all who knew her, was born July 1, 1943 to Glenn and Lilly Dildine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. She graduated with a secretarial degree from Pacific Union College in May of 1964 and worked many years in both business and as a legal secretary. She married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Popson Jr., December 13, 1964, and enjoyed 51-and-a-half years of true marital bliss. Her entire life was devoted to selfless service to the Lord, her husband, family, friends, and everyone she knew. She loved music and was a talented church pianist and organist her entire life. She could make even a simple organ sound like a pipe organ! She was extremely organized, and could accomplish an amazing load of tasks and make it look easy. She was known for always having a willing heart, saying yes to anyone’s need, never complaining, and being very real. Her “generous hand truly was blessed” as Proverbs 22:9 promises.
Evie is survived by her husband, Tony; her three children, Jack and his wife Lucy, Dan and his wife Suzanne, and Esther and her husband Sean; seven grandchildren, Mark, Danielle, Luke, Gabriel, Rose, Sebastian, and Juliet; two brothers, Robert and David; and many other family members and friends who loved and miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held to honor her meaningful life at 5:00 p.m. today, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Medford Adventist Church, 1900 Greenwood Street.
