Charlie Hamilton Charlton Sr.

May 2, 1936 - September 26, 2016

Our Lord and Savior welcomed Charlie Hamilton Charlton Sr. with open arms Monday, September 26, 2016 at 4:45 a.m. Charlie was born May 2, 1936 in the small town of Ashdown, Arkansas. Charlie was, and will forever be known as one of the most compassionate, genuine, and philanthropic men in the Rogue Valley. Charlie Charlton’s love for racing and fast cars shaped his calling to mentor and guide up-and-coming racers throughout the Rogue Valley. Charlie Charlton will forever be known as a Godly man and a mentor to all.

Charlie was a hard-working man who dedicated his life to his wife and children. Charlie lived to serve and was always looking for ways to help his community. Charlie Charlton was a true country gentleman who enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. The Rogue Valley will never be the same without the inspirational words of Godly encouragement from Charlie Charlton throughout the day.

Charlie is survived by the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Carol Charlton; his children, Loria Charlton, Deanna Charlton, Charlie Charlton, and Chris Charlton. He was the proud and loving PaPa to 20 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom; dad; brother; daughter, Naomi; and son, Joseph Charlton.

The family will be hosting a private celebration of life Thursday, September 29, 2016 but extends a public invitation to a potluck at 5:00 p.m. followed by a worship service at 6:00 p.m Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Eagle Valley Cowboy Church.

As a man of God, Charlie Charlton was always offering up enriching words to comfort, motivate, and guide those he loved most. With that, we bless you with a thought in Charlie Charlton’s name: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”- 2 Timothy 4:7

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be mailed to Eagle Valley Cowboy Church: 405 Rogue River Dr, Eagle Point, Ore. 97524
