Helen S. Vidmar
Helen S. Vidmar, 91, of Ashland, Ore., formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed peacefully October 26, 2016 in her home in Ashland after a long struggle with Parkinsons. Born in February 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the loving wife of Joseph Vidmar with whom she celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past July 29. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew Torok and Julia (Gogolya) Torok of Euclid, Ohio.
Helen was a mother and a career real estate professional in Cleveland until her retirement in 2001 when she moved to Ashland. She worked alongside her husband, Joseph, in their grocery store, Helen’s Food Market in Cleveland, prior to teaming with Joseph in their prestigious real estate business. Helen loved her family above all else and enjoyed laughing and loving. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Hawaii, California, Florida, and wherever she could join up with family and friends.
Helen was the mother of a daughter, Donna Jean Morris and three sons, Daniel Joseph Vidmar (deceased), David John Vidmar, and Dale James Vidmar. Donna Jean moved to Ashland, Ore. in 2001, driving across the country from Cleveland with Helen and Joseph. David currently lives in San Diego. Dale has been an Ashland resident since 1982. Helen was the grandmother of Christopher Michael Morris and the great-grandmother of Melanie Noel St. Martin. May she rest in peace with love.
The family will have a public viewing from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland Street, Ashland, Ore. Father Maro Escano will offer the Funeral Mass and service at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland.
