Ethel May La Fontaine

August 29, 1932 - December 2, 2016

Ethel May La Fontaine, 84, passed away December 2, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Medford, Ore. Ethel was born August 29 1932 in San Jose, Calif. to Edward Eugene and May Lily Diamond

Ethel married the love of her life, John (Bob) La Fontaine, February 15, 1952. In 1962 they bought the Box O Ranch in the Green Springs. In 1963 they moved to Ashland and bought Dunham’s Country Store. In 1974 they opened the Hungry Woodsman which they ran until 1998.

Ethel enjoyed gardening, sewing, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, RVing, and spending time with family and friends.

Ethel will be missed more than words can ever express. Her SMILE would fill a room and she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Ethel is survived by her son, Robert La Fontaine and wife, Cheryl of Eagle Point; daughter, Susan Duran and husband, George of Medford; grandchildren, Travis Wilson and wife, Alissa, Jessica Cole, and Sarah Brown and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Maile, and Kami Wilson, Kayden Cole, and David, Logan, and Pierce Brown. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John (Bob) La Fontaine; daughter, Linda Agnew and brother, John Diamond.

The memorial service for Ethel May La Fontaine will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Memory Gardens Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial contributions to your favorite charity.
