Robert 'Dale' Clement
July 22, 1920 - December 26, 2016
Robert "Dale" Clement, 96, of Medford, Oregon passed away December 26, 2016 with his family at his side. He was born July 22, 1920 to James A. Clement and Alta Byerley in Klamath Falls, Ore. He was raised in Gold Hill, Ore. where he attended and graduated Gold Hill High School.
Dale married Zen L. Davis November 23, 1940 in Carson City, Nevada and the couple resided in both Gold Hill and Medford where they raised their three children.
Dale served under the Seabees division of the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire life, even taking part-time jobs after his retirement well into his 80s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanics, and reading. He was a member and served various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dale is survived by his three children, Daleen (Sheff) Killian of Ogden, Utah, Debbie (Ken) Barber of Central Point, Ore., and Todd (Tiffany) Clement of Central Point, Ore.; one sister, Patricia Zimmer of Gold Hill, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Zen; three brothers; two sisters; and one grandson.
A viewing will be held at noon followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3456 Bellinger Lane, Medford, Ore. Interment to follow at Rocky Point Cemetery, Gold Hill, Ore.
