Donald Leon Boucher

March 7, 1936 - February 18, 2017

Our beloved husband, father, and papa, Don Boucher passed away February 18, 2017 at his home in Jacksonville, Oregon after his long, brave battle with Lewy Body disease.

Don was born in Independence, Missouri to Mederick and Bertha Boucher, and at age six journeyed west with his family to Cave Junction, Ore. They later moved to Newport Beach, California where Don graduated from Newport Harbor High School and attended Orange Coast College. He married high school sweetheart, Sandra Lee Stone in 1956 at Laguna Beach, Calif.

In 1964 Don and Sandy moved to Medford, Ore. to raise their family in the beautiful northwest.

Don worked for Ma Bell Telephone Co. and AT&T for 32 years then retired so he and Sandy could travel and he could become an accomplished artist. Don was a Renaissance man who saw humor in life, loved sports, (trophies in tennis and golf, coached Little League, cheered the Mariners and Seahawks), loved to read about art and science and follow world news - yet his family was always at the center of his heart.

In 2001 Don and Sandy built their home in Jacksonville where they loved walking to town; ushering at Britt; and enjoying friends, new and old.

Don is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald J. Boucher and Gary L. Boucher of Medford, Ore.; two daughters, Wendy Boucher Garrett (Tate) of Del Ray Beach, Florida and Alison Boucher Durkee (Robert) of Central Point, Ore.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Mederick Boucher of Redlands, Calif.; Al Boucher of Redmond, Ore., and Jerry Boucher (Myrta) of Minden, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest brother, Robert Boucher; and his daughter-in-law, Kim Boucher.

A spring celebration of his life, open to all family and friends, will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his daughter's home in Central Point, Ore. Arrangements are in care of Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford, and Jacksonville Cemetery.
