Alice Bernice Kellogg

November 29, 1922 - March 2, 2017

Alice Bernice Kellogg moved on March 2, 2017 to be with the Lord. Alice was born in Billings, Montana and passed away in Phoenix, Oregon.

Alice was one of four siblings – two sisters, Thelma and Evelyn and one brother, Walt. Alice was the last of the surviving siblings.

She was married at the age of 16 to J. Eddie Wigen, and together they had three boys, John, Dennis, and Roger. Alice and family migrated from Billings, Mont. to Ballard, Washington, and eventually to Ashland, Ore.

Alice was later married to Jerry Kellogg for 39 years. A beautician by trade, she was often referred to as an unlicensed therapist, but her hobbies made her thrive. She loved music and dance (square dancing, polka, and clogging.) Alice loved to write poetry, but she was also a gardener and a seamstress. She poured her love into fabric and yarn crafts that she generously made for family and friends.

After Jerry passed away in 2010, Alice redirected her grief by knitting hats for the newborns at Rogue Regional Medical Center. In recent years, she spent time sorting food for those in need at the Talent Pantry and sorting clothes in the Phoenix Presbyterian Church Thrift Shop. However, it was fostering dogs through Dogs for the Deaf that made Alice shine with joy.

Alice is survived by her sons, John and Roger Wigen; her grandsons, Brian and Jason Wigen; her great-granddaughters, Danielle and Erin Wigen; her nieces, Carol McMurrian and Karen Peters; and her cousin, Jerry Larson.

Alice was a strong-willed, fiery, beautiful woman to the very end and will be sorely missed.
