Jeffrey 'Jeff' Lee Kuyper
September 16, 1964 - March 10, 2017
Jeff was born September 16, 1964 in Bellflower, California to Don and Melva Kuyper. He had two older brothers, Craig and Michael, and a younger sister, Denise. He attended schools in Lakewood, California. Many happy weekends and vacations were spent camping in nearby mountains and some not so nearby. His love for nature lasted throughout his life.
He attended Long Beach City College for two years and then moved on to Humboldt State University. He graduated in 1991 with a bachelor degree in park and recreation administration with a minor in business.
He worked at Hume Lake Christian Camps on and off for five years. He was a student counselor for teens and taught outdoor education and ornithology. He met his bride-to-be, Treva Lavonne Bailey, while in San Jose, California. Jeff and Treva were married January 14, 1995.
He was employed by E. Jordan Brookes for four years until they moved to southern Oregon in 1999 where he started a new career in financial services.
Jeff and Treva have three children, daughter, Emilee and sons, Arie and Zachary. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, friend, youth leader, hunter, fisherman, surfer, and archer. He loved the outdoors and desired his friends and family to experience adventure. In all these things his goal was to be faithful to his God, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jeff and Treva attended Community Bible Church for 17 years and loved working with the teens through youth ministry.
His life ended March 10, 2017 and he is missed by his family, his church, and his friends.
We believe he was greeted that day, March 10, 2017, by his Lord with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
