Elizabeth C. Stalbird

January 31, 1941 - July 4, 2017  

Elizabeth C. Stalbird, Bonanza, Oregon passed away July 4, 2017 at Skylakes Medical Center, Klamath Falls, Ore. She was born January 31, 1941 to Harvey and Helen Moore in Sharon, Pennyslvania.   

Liz graduated from California State University, Fullerton. 

She married her husband, Norman, September 23, 1994 in Medford, Ore.    

Elizabeth worked for Jackson County Community Service for 24 1/2 years. She instituted a GED program as well as AA and NA programs to aid inmates in their ability to obtain employment once they were released, which decreased recidivism.  

Elizabeth was active in the community, participating in the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for 24 years, president in 1971 of League of Women Voters, and SMART (improving student learning), and served as Road District Treasurer for over 12 years. 

Liz traveled extensively with friends on her Honda Goldwing motorcycle, and later enjoyed camping and RVing.  

She peacefully passed away after spending time with her husband, Norman; children, Caroline Gardner and James Reed and grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Nicole Stalbird; sister, Dr. Margery Moore-Smith, DVM; brother, Thomas Moore; and numerous grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
