Charlotte Golsh Johnson
November 5, 1932 - July 3, 2017
Charlotte passed away peacefully July 3, 2017 in her home. She was born to Margaret “Minnie” Golsh and Frank Berman in Imperial, California; the niece of the late Rincon Band of Luiseño Indian Chief, Marcus Golsh.
Because of her mother’s diminishing health, at age five she and her brother, Peter Golsh Padilla and sister, Barbara Ursula Golsh were taken to the orphanage at Mission San Diego de Alcalá which was the first mission built in California. Charlotte and her siblings spent the next eight years there.
Charlotte was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with her family. Charlotte was married to Paul Johnson in 1988, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Charlotte is survived by her children, daughters, Darlene Hudson and Elizabeth Bowman both of Medford; sons, Michael Berman of New Braunfels Texas and Eric Berman of San Diego; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six nieces; and three nephews.
Because Charlotte was cremated, her children will celebrate her life and scatter her ashes at a later date.
