Janet Jean Bogart Byrd Beaver
February 18, 1940 - August 14, 2017
It is with great sadness we must announce the passing of our mother, Janet, 77, of White City, Oregon, after losing a bravely fought battle with liver cancer.
Janet was born February 18, 1940 in Starke County, Indiana to Bernard and Delphia Bogart. She was the second of five girls. Her younger years were spent growing up in Indiana and West Virginia. As a teen, her family moved to Southern California, where Janet met and married her first husband Charles Byrd, a Navy man from Panama City, Florida. Together they raised six children in California and Florida. Later in life, Janet moved to Medford, Oregon where she married Edward Beaver. They were married until Ed’s death in June 2011.
Janet enjoyed the outdoors, from walks on the beach, in the woods, or camping and fishing. She was an avid reader, quilter, and gardener, and loved volunteering at the Table Rock Pantry.
Janet was kind-hearted, loving, and helpful. Her starry-eyed smiles and gentle hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived by her six children and their families. Sons, Gene Byrd (Angie) of Youngstown, Fla., Jimmy Byrd of Central Point, Ore., and David Byrd of Central Point, Ore.; and daughters, Margaret Fry (James) of White City, Ore., Kathy Kuyper (Craig) of Medford, Ore., and Susan Orozco (Cruz) of White City, Ore.
