Louise Marie Norman
August 10, 1927 - August 19, 2017
"The best things happen while you’re dancing."
Louise Marie Norman danced her way to Heaven Saturday, August 19, 2017. She was born August 10, 1927 in Binghamton, New York.
From an early age, she was bitten by the ‘song and dance’ bug and took up tap dancing and voice lessons as a youngster. She went on to become an accomplished soprano as well as an avid ballroom dancer. She achieved her AA degree in library science and was employed with the California School System for many years. She really enjoyed reading children’s poetry and quickly became the favorite ‘librarian’ at her elementary school, especially when reciting her rendition of Shel Silverstein’s The Missing Piece. She was active in her church, sang in the choir for many years, and held the position of secretary for the local chapter of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dance Association. She was always busy enjoying life on and off the dance floor. Whether hiking, biking, snowmobiling, rafting, or a rousing game of cards with friends - she’d try anything at least once.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Norman and will be interred with him at Eagle Point National Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Sandra Miller and Brad Norman and grandchildren, Zach Miller, and Kristin and Tanner Norman.
We will honor Louise’s memory at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 987 Hillview Drive, Ashland, OR. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to your favorite charity or hers: Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church or Massachusetts General Hospital.
