Janet Naomi Crosby
June 23, 1932 - August 26, 2017
Janet "Jan" Naomi Crosby, devoted wife, wonderful mother, inspirational grandmother, and dear friend passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at age 85.
Janet was born and raised in Medford, Oregon. She attended Medford High School and went on to Oregon State University. She was branch manager of First Federal Savings & Loan, and then Far West Federal. She finished out her career at Key Bank. Janet was also an ardent member of Soroptimist and PEO, Chapter BE, Medford.
Janet regularly enjoyed the fine arts. Attending plays and musicals with friends and family were among her favorite activities. She brought positive energy, playfulness, and a humble politeness to every situation she encountered. Janet had a unique ability to see past the unpleasantries of life and just laugh, to take nothing with disdain and everything with a smile on her face. Janet’s grace, humility, kindness, and sophistication inspired all those around her.
Janet was truly the best mom a child could ask for and the most nurturing grandma a grandson could have. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry (Crosby) Gennrich of Lake Oswego, Ore.; her son, Todd Crosby and his wife, Beth of San Francisco, California; and her grandson, Cole Gennrich of New York. Her beloved husband of 53 years, Blair Crosby preceded her in death May 1, 2007.
Janet asked that donations be made to Chapter BE Scholarship Fund - Chapter BE Oregon Fund #7798, checks payable to P.E.O. Executive Office, Treasurer’s Dept., 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312.
A celebration of life will be held in September, 2017.
