At 69, you’d have to say that Scott lived a rich and full life. In his early twenties he took off for Europe, eventually settling in Stockholm, Sweden. For 15 years he played music, collected instruments, made exquisitely beautiful leather handcrafts, performed street theater, and with his Swedish wife, Christina, traveled throughout Europe. After returning to the U.S. in 1983, he joined his brother’s business in Big Bear Lake, California making cabinets and garage doors. It was here he would meet Donna, who would become his second wife.
Eventually Scott and Donna moved to Ashland, Oregon where for the next 27 years Scott built sets for the OSF, played a variety of instruments with many local music groups, ran his own garage door business, and fell in love with a mountain home on Old Siskiyou Highway that he restored.
Greg and Jason, his stepsons, were drawn to his creative spirit and learned from him both woodworking and music. Scott continued in theater, appearing a few years ago in Camelot Theatre’s production Woody Guthrie’s American Song, where he sang and played guitar, banjo, and mandolin.
He passed away peacefully in his mountain home.
