Wallace Larson

May 2, 1938 - July 23, 2017

Wallace (Wally) Mitchell Larson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Einer and Margaret Larson. Wally attended Medford High School and graduated in 1957. He was a track star in high school, setting several records and some still stand to this day.

He married Barbara Jean Pierce in 1960 and they had three children, Shereen, Michael, and Christa, all living in Central Point. Barbara passed away in 2011.

Always a creative, organized, and outgoing person, Wally spent his life building custom homes, custom cars, and building engines. Horses were a hobby in earlier years and that is how he met his current wife, Janet Glyn Emerson. They were married September 2, 1978. Wally was an automobile and engine enthusiast. He created the incredible custom car “the Groundfighter.” The car toured all over the United States and Canada in auto shows and exhibitions, and was featured in several auto magazines, including the cover of Hot Rod magazine. The car still exists today, featuring Wally’s special design ideas. He was a hot rodder until the end.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Larson; and children, Shereen Riley, Michael Larson, and Christa Larson.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, at Twin Creeks Park, 555 Twin Creeks Crossing Loop, in Central Point. Bring your hot rods and stories about Wally!
