William Ray Robinson

December 17, 1945 - September 9, 2017

William Ray Robinson (Bill) accepted the Lord as his personal savior and passed away peacefully September 9, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born December 17, 1945 in Tillamook, Oregon.

Bill graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from the Bureau of Land Management in 2005.

Bill was fond of camping, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, where he introduced his kids to the Illinois River (back when it wasn’t paved.) His hobbies included frisbee golf and darts (he played on many teams.) 

He is survived by his mother, Minnie Robinson; his wife, Jenny Robinson and her two daughters, Mandy Lambeth and Kayla Petty; his four children, Michael Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, Debbie Ross, and Donald Robinson; his brothers and sisters, Jean McNamara, Joanne Moore, Robert Scott Robinson, Lori Robinson, and Randy Robinson; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Robinson and his sister, Linda Hale.

Two viewings will be offered Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and another will be at 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral service.  Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Valley, 2065 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, OR. Burial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, OR.
