Sharon Lynne Chandler Besler

Sharon Lynne Besler, née Chandler, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2017 at her home in Medford, Oregon. She was born March 20, 1942 in Glendale, California.
She graduated from Taft High School in California in 1960 and attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles. She married Arthur October 21, 1961. A devoted wife and mother, after her children were grown she focused her time on ministry, especially to seniors. She obtained her theology degree in 1995.
In 1997 in Brooks, Oregon, Sharon was ordained as a pastor with the Church of God. She served as a seniors’ Pastor at the First Church of God in Medford and conducted Bible studies at various nursing and assisted living homes throughout the Rogue Valley. She also authored a newsletter sent throughout the world titled “Crown of Glory.” In addition, she ministered to hundreds of people who were near the end of their lives, especially those without close friends or family. She also officiated over 100 weddings and conducted dozens of funerals.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Vickie Spargur and husband, Chris of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and their daughters, Tiffany and Stephanie and grandsons Jayden and Cameron; Irene Besler of Medford, Ore.; and Nadine Maenza and husband Terry of Spring City, Pa., and their children Andrew, Anthony, and Julia; and sisters, Marvalyn Chandler and Sue Loustalot, both of Taft, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vada Payne Chandler Lundstrom Henshaw and Marvin Chandler and granddaughter, Angela Maenza.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. at The First Church of God, 2000 Crater Lake Avenue, Medford, OR 97504. Lunch will follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastor John Wuiff will officiate the ceremony and all are welcome to attend and celebrate Sharon’s life.
