Marilyn M. Malek
January 22, 1935 - October 1, 2017
Marilyn Malek, 82, of Central Point, Oregon passed away in the early morning hours Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Medford, Ore. She was born January 22, 1935 in Billings, Montana to Paula and George Lunday.
Marilyn married Charles (Bill) Malek in June 1955. She spent 20 years as a military wife making several (many) relocations. Another 15 years as a civil service (DOD) partner and finally retiring to Ruch, Ore. in 1993 and then Central Point in 2004.
Marilyn's hobby for many years was making dolls and teddy bears. Early on she was a bank teller, starting in Guam, then Germany, and then California. One of her many friends stated that she was an inspiration to many, and truly a friend to us all. She was very family-oriented and we will miss her very much.
She is survived by her husband, Charles (Bill) of Central Point; daughter, Chari of Medford; sons, Michael and William of Thailand; granddaughter, Jasmine of Thailand; brother, Russel of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family extends many thanks to Roxy Ann Memory Care Community and Asante Hospice for the compassion and loving care of Marilyn.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. October 30, 2017 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Arrangements by Conger-Morris, Central Point, 541-664-3361. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
