Ronald James Quackenbush
March 21, 1929 - December 21, 2017
Ronald James Quackenbush was born March 21, 1929 in Medford, Oregon to Vaughn and Mabel Quackenbush. He attended Talent schools until his senior year when he transferred to Ashland Senior High and graduated in 1947. He married Mary Louise (Billie) Church August 7, 1948. They had two children, Charlyn and Lanny.
Ronald had a strong faith and put his trust in God at an early age. That faith remained his foundation throughout the rest of his life.
Ronald worked with his father at the Oregon State Experiment Station until his graduation from Southern Oregon College of Education in 1950 with a three-year certificate of education. He began his career as a teacher in Kirby, Ore. From Kirby he moved to Howard School and taught there, meanwhile taking classes to achieve his Bachelor of Science in Education and then his master's degree in Education. His first administration job was as a principal in Ruch. His career went from administration to classroom and back to administration during the ensuing years. His real love was the students and teaching. He was both a teacher and principal at Jefferson Elementary, and a principal at Lone Pine Elementary.
After his retirement he was most likely to be found working in his beautiful yard.
