Geraldine J. Fletcher-Caruth
May 27, 1939 - March 14, 2018
Geraldine J. Fletcher-Caruth, (Gerrie) as she was known by her old friends, passed away in peace March 14, 2018. Born May 27, 1939 to Gerald and Mary Fletcher, she came with her family to Medford, Oregon in 1946.
In 1939 Franklin Roosevelt was President of the United States, and Gerrie lived across the street from Roosevelt School, where her daughter Denise now lives. One of the things she would mention was the time she saw Eleanor Roosevelt when she had come to the school to speak at a class assembly.
In 1954 Gerrie was a princess in the Jacksonville Jubilee Parade. She married and had three children, and moved them to Burns, Ore. Later, after moving to the Vancouver, Washington area she and her husband, Chuck (now deceased), had a gift shop. In 1999 they retired and relocated to Long Beach, Wash.
Gerrie enjoyed her home and spending time with her friends at the Elks, playing bingo, crocheting scarves, and visiting the casino.
Gerrie is survived by two daughters, Debbie Alford (Bob) and Denise Negles. Her son, Mark Negless passed in 2010. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and her very dear sister, Bette Offenbacher.
