John Gray Uerlings

John Gray Uerlings quietly and peacefully passed away in his home Wednesday, April 4, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 20, 1927 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Carol J. Gray and John A. Uerlings Jr.
John served his country from 1944-1948 in the U.S. Navy as a first-class seaman in the South Pacific during World War II. He joined the Oregon State Police force as a highway patrolman serving Klamath Falls and Jackson County. John had an immense love for aviation and became a charter member of the EAA chapter 319. He also had a special place in his heart for cats and received the nickname Catman because of all the cats he saved.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dee Uerlings; sister, Yvonne Harlan; children, Arba Jay McCullough, John Dennis Uerlings, Terry Schoenleber, Kimbra S. Hale, and Michael John Uerlings; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and daughter, Teena Ann McCollough.
The memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. April 26, 2018 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Memorial will be followed by a celebration of life and potluck lunch held at the church on the comer of Highway 62 and Linn Road.
