COVID cases tick upward
The Oregon Health Authority on Sunday reported 761 new cases of COVID-19 in the state with no deaths.
Jackson County had 57 new cases, bringing the total to 9,625 with 126 deaths.
Josephine County had 20 cases, bringing the total to 2,954 with 62 deaths.
Statewide the total number of COVID cases is 170,086 with 2,440 deaths.
The latest state numbers show an increase in COVID cases on Sunday compared to 560 on Saturday.
At the same time, vaccination rates continue to climb.
On Sunday, 54,790 new doses were added to the state immunization registry.
Of this amount, 30,068 were administered on April 9, and 24,722 were administered on previous days but were entered on the registry on April 9.
Oregon has administered a total of 1,139,331 doses of Pfizer, 1,012,176 doses of Moderna and 72,833 doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 170, which is 12 more than yesterday. There are 46 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which is 7 more than yesterday.
