One person is in custody following a chase that ended with a Pursuit Intervention Technique on an antique vehicle near downtown Medford.

The chase involving a late 1960s Dodge pickup began at 12:43 p.m. Friday when the driver allegedly tried to elude an Oregon State Police trooper on Highway 62, according to a Medford police Facebook post.

The driver, who as of Friday afternoon had not been identified by police, continued into Medford city limits and allegedly drove recklessly through the center of town.

The pickup steered away from spike strips set up on Central Avenue, so a Medford officer disabled the truck using a PIT maneuver near the intersection of Fourth and Grape streets.

Oregon State police took the suspect into custody without any further incident.
