Fire District No. 3 covering Gold Hill, Sams Valley, Eagle Point, White City and Central Point is looking for volunteers to help with many different tasks, including: greeting and hospitality, data entry, building maps, instructing CPR classes, installing smoke alarms, staffing information booths, deliveries to fire stations, driving food and water to firefighters, and more. The Teresa McCormick Center is in need of an experienced BIKE MECHANIC to repair and build bicycles that have been donated. The bikes are gifted to community members in need. Volunteer mechanic would be able to use the Center’s space, their tools, parts, and lots of bikes. Volunteer hours are flexible. Reach Ashley Hughes directly at 541-864-5098 if interested. Kid Time is looking for volunteers to assist with their grades K-5 Kid Time Summer Camps; must be 16 years or older. Camps run throughout the summer from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and have educational themes such as “Construction Junction” and “Crazy Physics”. Age Wise Age Well is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide PEER COUNSELING to older adults who are experiencing issues related to aging such as grief, loss, anxiety, isolation, adjusting to new illness, and many others. No experience needed; volunteer counselors are trained to meet with clients one-on-one and provide emotional support and guidance to seniors referred to the program. This opportunity is only for volunteers 55 and older.
SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance) is seeking volunteer MEDICARE COUNSELORS to help seniors navigate the ins and outs of Medicare. No experience needed. Volunteers receive extensive training and meet one-on-one with clients to provide unbiased support for all things Medicare-related. This opportunity is only for volunteers 55 and older.
