Food Stamps for docsIt seems to me that although it's legal for Ashland physicians to accept "state welfare" to defray the cost of malpractice insurance, I find it morally and ethically reprehensible.
Ashland is not a rural community, it's more of a designer community, and furthermore none of the physicians is starving! What next, "Food Stamps for Docs" and discounts on "Beemers?" &

Funny how that works"They" worry about us getting hurt on Foothill Road and maybe on Highway 62 because of the elk but they don't mind if we might get hurt or killed trying to get onto Highway 62 at the Coker Butte Road intersection or at the Vilas Road/Highway 62 intersection where there is no turn light. Funny how that works. &
8212; T. DeHart, Medford Act now to impeachCongressman John Conyers, the incoming head of the House Judiciary Committee, writes in his report "Constitution in Crisis," "In brief, we had found that there is substantial evidence the president, the vice president and other high-ranking members of the Bush administration misled Congress and the American people regarding the decision to go to war in Iraq; misstated and manipulated intelligence information regarding the justification for such war; countenanced torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in Iraq; permitted inappropriate retaliation against critics of their administration; and approved domestic surveillance that is both illegal and unconstitutional." President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have lied and lied the United States into a senseless and disastrous war in Iraq, and their push for an even more disastrous "preventive" war against Iran underscores the urgency of Congress acting now to prepare a long-overdue bill of impeachment. &

Crimes of I.G. FarbenThe Sunday, Nov. 19 Mail Tribune article "Mile upon mile of Holocaust Ghosts" was lengthy, graphic and haunting. The John Birch Society (), though, has done a remarkable, credible and informative job in exposing Nazi SS war crimes and atrocities, and those perpetrated by the Bolsheviks and communists.
Totalitarian/collectivist regimes (National Socialists) included the communists, Nazis, and fascists. All three were guilty of perpetrating mass murder, genocide, enslavement and political terror. An outstanding article addressing Holocaust studies is "The Crimes of I.G. Farben" by Dennis Behreandt in the Nov. 14 issue of The New American ( american.com).
I. G. Farben Industries was a German firm. During World War II (1939-1945) I.G. Farben was in partnership with Nazi Germany's dreaded SS and Gestapo, and was a sinister participant in the Holocaust. I.G. Farben likewise had links to Standard Oil Co. and manufactured the poison Zyklon B gas utilized by the SS in the Nazi extermination and death factories. An example of how efficient this killing agent was occurred during the gassing of 24,000 Hungarian Jews at Auschwitz, Poland, on one day in 1944. The gassed victims afterwards were cremated. &
