Boating at Lost Creek Lake

If you've got a boat or even if you don't, summer heat means it's time to get out on the water. Welcome to one of the state's least crowded lakes — Lost Creek Lake in Jackson County.

You have your choice of two paved, extra long boat ramps that will get you into the lake no matter the water level.

On the lake's northside, choose the more isolated barebones ramp, where the only amenity is a restroom. In comparison, to the south, you'll be floating in luxury with a store, a shady patio and a full-service marina.

The boatless can rent everything from a paddleboat to fishing boats of various sizes, all the way up to pontoon boats large enough to take all of your friends on an all-day lake party.

Get some food and a lake map at the marina store and push off to one of the boat-in campgrounds on the lakeshore, where the only person you're likely to see is another boater or perhaps a hiker wandering by.

For those taking a week or more's vacation, there's tent and RV camping at the Joseph Stewart State Park.

Reserve a boat or get the latest information by calling the marina, 541-560-3646, or visit www.lostcreeklake.com.
