Lake Outlook: Nov. 5, 2009
AGATE - The lake is very low, but fishing is good for the 500 large rainbows and 150 trophy rainbows stocked there recently.
APPLEGATE - The lake dropped to 87 feet from full as of Wednesday, but fishing is good for recently stocked lunker and trophy trout. Bank catches have been best on PowerBait, while trollers working the top 15 feet of water are catching trout on Wedding Ring spinners with a small worm trailer. Smallmouth bass are staging off points and hitting crankbaits.
EMIGRANT - Fishing for bass and perch is fair to good. Trout fishing is fair to good off the bank with worms or PowerBait for anglers fishing lower in the system. A standing public-health advisory continues about eating all but trout from the lake because of elevated mercury levels.
HOWARD PRAIRIE - The lake is closed to angling until spring.
HYATT - The lake is closed to angling until spring.
DIAMOND - The lake is closed to angling until spring.
EXPO - The pond was stocked with 150 fresh rainbow trout recently and catches are fair to good on Panther Martin lures and PowerBait.
LAKE of the WOODS - Fishing is fair to good for legal-size and trophy-size trout stocked there last month. Bank-fishing with PowerBait has been effective during the day.
LOST CREEK - Trolling for trout remains good with small spinners and flashers near the dam and directly across the lake from the Lost Creek Marina. Anglers continue to target the 850 larger trout stocked there last month. The lake remains at its minimum pool and the surface temperature is 53 degrees.
FISH - About 900 trophy-size rainbows were stocked in Fish Lake recently. Fishing for them remains fair to good.
SELMAC - Trout fishing is very good now for the 1,000 large trout and 150 trophy trout that were stocked there recently. Use small spinners and PowerBait.
WILLOW - Bank fishing for trout with PowerBait or worms remains fair to good.
MEDCO POND - Trout fishing has been fair. Fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill has been good.
