A Fender bender

The Rogue Suspects and other regional musicians will head up a two-day jam and musicians' swap meet this weekend — featuring members of the Fender Discussion Page Forum — at Applegate River Lodge, 15100 Highway 238, Applegate.

The Fender Discussion Page Forum is an international website that provides a place to discuss all things related to Fender, such as guitars, performing, recording and a variety of other topics of interest to musicians. Known as the Fender Forum, the website is an independent one, and not part of Fender Musical Instruments Corp.

A group of Fender Forum members will get together for electric and acoustic jams Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11-12, at Applegate River Lodge. Players will include David Sugarbeet, an electric blues violinist based in the United Kingdom, along with harpist John Macy of Mexico. Others are Dave Werolin and Fred Holzhauer of California, Pat Haley of White Salmon, Wash., and Tom Quigley of Portland.

The Rogue Suspects, along with Joe Diehl, Mikey Stevens, Duke Davis and other locals, will perform a mix of rock, blues, soul and R&B at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the lodge. Sugarbeet and Macy will sit in. Cover will be $5. The Fender Forum jams will be Saturday and Sunday, with a show at 7 p.m. Saturday. Cover will be $5.

A musicians' swap meet will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, and tours of Pacifica Studio (built by recording artist Steve Miller) in Williams will be available. Admission to the swap meet is $5. Tables cost $20. Call 541-482-4830 to reserve a space. Call 541-245-0934 for information about the tours.
