'A Bluegrass Journey'

Bluegrass band Siskiyou Summit will present "A Bluegrass Journey: From the Roots to the Branches" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Roxy Ann Grange, 1850 Spring St., Medford.

The group will perform songs by Bill Monroe, known as the "father of bluegrass," along with tunes by Jimmy Rogers, The Carter Family, Flatt and Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers and more. Russel Lloyd, an actor at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, will narrate the story.

The concert will showcase some of the best-known bluegrass from the 1930s to today, such as "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," "Dueling Banjos" and "Man of Constant Sorrow."

Tickets cost $15, $10 for children 11 and younger, and are available at Nelson's Brake & Alignment in Medford and Music Coop in Ashland. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. See www.siskiyousummit.com or call 541-488-0178 for more.
