Original Music Fest
Nine local acts will showcase original music at the second annual Rogue Original Music Festival, to be held from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Touvelle Lodge, 9367 Table Rock Road, Central Point.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation, a nonproft organization that enriches the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.
Bend-based acoustic guitarist Auzzie Mark will kick off the concert at 1 p.m., followed by country-rock band Ponderosa Breeze at 2 p.m. The Brian Swan Band will perform rock and pop at 3 p.m., and acoustic blues guitarist Pete Herzog will play at 4 p.m. Rock trio Spiral Kings performs at 5 p.m. Grants Pass folk-rock band The Key of Three play at 6 p.m., and rock band Velocity plays at 7 p.m.
Rock band 221Fly, voted Best of the Bands at the 2011 Battle of the Bones, will play at 8 p.m.
221Fly will showcase music from its debut eponymous album. The album is available at Amazon, iTunes, CDBaby and other online retailers.
The band also will present new music that's set for another CD to be recorded this winter.
"Make a Wish Foundation is a great cause," says Brandon Bloomfield, bassist for 221Fly. "We're glad to be part of the fundraiser."
Central Point band Ring of Trees will conclude the lineup of entertainment at 9 p.m. with a set of folk-rock, Latin jazz and reggae.
In addition to live music and Touvelle's barbecue fare, there will be a silent auction from noon to 7 p.m. Items on the block include a dinner at Bella Union, a raft, a two-night stay with dinner at Callahan's Mountain Lodge, a necklace from Pacific Diamond Jewelers, works by local artists and gift cards to various local businesses and restaurants.
Cover to the festival is $5. Guests may bring their own chairs or sit at one of the lodge's picnic tables.
