Dancing (and Dining) in the Streets: DJ Gemineye and Dj-Opie will spin tunes in a DJ battle from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, in the streets near the RCC/SOU/HEC Bookstore, 114 S. Bartlett St., in downtown Medford. Follow the music and find menus at nearby tables. Call in to the particular restaurants, and food will be delivered to your table. Then dance in the street. Bring nonperishable canned food to donate to ACCESS. Dancing (and Dining) in the Streets takes place the third Friday of each month through Sept. 20, with different band or DJ performances each month. Brava! Opera: Portland Opera ToGo’s “La Bohème,” a poignant adaptation of Puccini’s classic story of love and loss in the Latin Quarter, will be presented by Brava! Opera Theater and the James M. Collier Young Artist Program at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. The production, “Out of Hat,” is an original comic tale told from the rabbit’s perspective, exploring the magic of physics and the physics of magic. Meet the sinister magician, the revolutionist bunnies, a two-headed girl and more.
