Karen Lovely: Blues singer Karen Lovely and her band will perform a mix of contemporary blues, blues-rock and American roots music at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, RoxyAnn Winery, 3285 Hillcrest Road, Medford. Lovely has garnered several awards including seven Muddy Awards for Performance of the Year, Best Contemporary Blues Band, Best Female Artist and Best National Recording of 2013. Lovely’s newest, “Fish Outta Water,” topped national and international blues and roots charts, debuting at No. 13 on Billboard’s Top 100 Blues Album Chart in 2017. Admission is $10. Tenebrae: Chamber Music Concerts will host Tenebrae, an award-winning choir from the U.K., at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in the Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. The concert will feature music by Gregorio Allegri, Owain Park and Joby Talbot. In 2012, Tenebrae was the first-ever ensemble to be multi-nominated in the same category for the BBC Music Magazine Awards, securing the accolade of “Best Choral Performance.’”The following year, Tenebrae was nominated for the Gramophone Awards, and in 2018, it received a Grammy nomination. A pre-concert lecture will be given at 6:30 p.m. in Room 132 of the Music Building. Timberline Express: Music director Martin Behnke’s Timberline Express Big Band — featuring jazz musicians from the Rogue Valley — will perform a diverse mix of basic blues tunes, standard jazz and classically based and extended compositions at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The program, “Late November,” celebrates the end of the fall season as it moves into the holiday season with contemporary big band jazz. Featured works include titles from the band’s second CD “Hot Tracks,” which was released this fall, as well as a number of Christmas music premieres.
