Klamath clinches second in league

Zach Brown had a goal and two assists to help Klamath Falls defeat Crater 5-3 in the regular-season finale for both teams at The RRRink Tuesday.

With the victory, Klamath Falls (8-4) secured the second seed in the Southern League and opens the double-elimination playoffs tonight against Ashland. Anthony Penunuri, Lou Nacias and Blake Adkins each scored second-period goals for the Ice Hawks.

Brown's goal in the third period gave Klamath a 5-1 lead.

Alex Hagemann, Bryce Crawford and Aaron Asbeck each scored for Crater (0-12). Crater will face top-seeded South Medford in its opening playoff game tonight at 7:45 at The RRRink.

Damien Pulley made 20 saves for Klamath Falls, while Alec Williamson made 19 saves for the Comets.
