Zelmer propels Medford boys squad to 3-1 mark on the road record

EUGENE — Shawn Zelmer led the Medford boys water polo team in goals in all four of its games and to a 3-1 record over the weekend at Amazon Pool.

Zelmer amassed 25 goals in all, including nine in a 15-8 victory over Sheldon to end the road trip.

He also scored eight times in a 15-14 triumph over Redmond to start the weekend.

Also, Kelly Schultz totaled seven goals in four games.

Goalie Jeff Hyde tallied 39 blocks over Medford's final three games.

Medford also had a 15-14 win over Redmond and defeated West Salem, 10-4. South Eugene dealt Medford its only loss in a 17-10 decision.

The girls won their match up with Redmond, 21-6, led by Jenna Cooper's three goals.
