North senior Cory Haggans upset sixth-seed Tyler Wood of Modoc, Calif., in a close decision at 171 pounds in the round of 16. Haggans, seeded 11th, registered a pair of falls in his earlier matches.
North Medford's Ryan Mahoney posted two major decisions and a fall to move into the championship quarterfinals at 145, while heavyweight Robert Ross got pins in his only two matches after a bye.
In the consolation round, North has Alex Smith (125) and Mark Dickison (189) still in competition.
"We had a slow start but our kids clawed our way back," said North Medford coach Nolan Harris. "Five guys left is not bad."
