GP girls win golf tournament

Mackenzi Guthrie showed some major improvement at the Crater Spring Break Challenge girls golf tournament Friday.

The Crater High junior shot a 92, 13 strokes less than her previous outing, in the four-team event at Centennial Golf Club.

Grants Pass had the only full squad and won the event.

Reedsport sophomore Monica Vaughn, last year's Class 4A/3A/2A/1A state champion, was the tournament medalist with a 1-over par 73. Vaughn chipped in for two birdies on the back side.
