South Medford faces St. Mary's in benefit game
The unbeaten South Medford girls basketball team takes on a formidable opponent tonight in an Oregon School Activities Association endowment game that will raise money for breast-cancer screenings.
The top-ranked Panthers (24-0) host fourth-ranked St. Mary's Academy of Portland (17-7) at 6 p.m.
South Medford is aiming for a "pink-out" through a pre-sale package that includes admission to the game and commemorative "Proudly Pink Panther" T-shirts. Proceeds go to cancer screenings for under-insured women through Providence Medical Center.
