Rogan, Flynn lead Grizzlies in comeback win
KLAMATH FALLS — Bryce Rogan and Jamie Flynn both hit two-run doubles to key Ashland's five-run fifth inning as the Grizzlies rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Klamath Union 7-4 Thursday at Kiger Stadium.
Rogan continued his torrid pace by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base, and Ashland pitcher Jack Carroll picked up the win after striking out eight in a complete-game effort.
The Pelicans (9-7) scored two in the first and one in the third, but couldn't hold on after the Grizzlies (10-8) rallied behind five hits and a KU error in the fifth.
Aaron Scott and Ian Alpenia drew back-to-back walks to start the rally, and Rogan gave the Grizzlies the lead for good, 4-3, when he laced a pitch by reliever Brandon Tron to deep right-center field. A dropped fly ball put two on for Flynn, who plated two more with his double to left. Carroll singled home Flynn to give the Grizzlies another insurance run.
Carroll surrendered three earned runs on five hits.
Klamath Union starter Jack Bell held Ashland scoreless on two hits before Marcus Pascal took over to start the fourth.
