Phoenix runs Skyline record to 7-0

PHOENIX — Middle hitter Adriana Mereida-Ford notched 12 kills and setter Karlie Richardson went for eight aces and 23 assists to guide Phoenix to a 25-13, 25-10, 25-10 Skyline Conference volleyball victory over Mazama Thursday.

The Pirates, 12-2 overall, remained perfect in league at 7-0.

Phoenix picked up eight kills from Olivia Young, 15 digs from Lyzett Guitierrez, 11 digs from Bailee Tally and five kills from Sydney Amundsen.

NORTH VALLEY 3, KLAMATH UNION 0: At Klamath Falls, for the 14th time in 15 matches, junior outside hitter Haleigh Wagman provided North Valley with a double-double as the Knights grabbed a 25-20, 25-12, 25-21 victory.

Wagman lead the team in kills and digs with 12 and 16, respectively, while junior Mariah Gronbach posted nine kills, seven of which came in the third set for North Valley (8-7, 3-4 Sky).

Autumn Westergren added 14 digs for North Valley.

HIDDEN VALLEY 3, HENLEY 1: At Murphy, senior Kenzie Martin led Hidden Valley (14-1, 6-1 Sky) in kills with nine and also tallied eight blocks as the Mustangs grabbed a 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, 25-16 victory.

Junior Katie Allen added eight kills, 25 digs and three aces while fellow junior Brooke Lomica contributed seven kills, 10 blocks and two aces.

Southwest Conference

SHELDON 3, NORTH MEDFORD 0: At Eugene, North Medford had a difficult time matching up with Sheldon (10-6, 7-2 SWC), which registered a 25-10, 25-17, 25-19 triumph.

Freshman middle hitter Adriane McLemore had seven kills and two blocks for the Black Tornado (5-9, 2-8), which received six kills and eight digs from junior outside hitter Emily Carter, 14 assists, three digs and three blocks from Taylor Otoski and 13 digs from sophomore libero Ashley Ripplinger.

ROSEBURG 3, SOUTH MEDFORD 0: Roseburg won the Southwest Conference match, 25-19, 25-22, 25-13.

For South Medford (1-11, 1-9 SWC), freshman Chanel Groom registered nine kills and two blocks, and senior Kenzie Cox tallied eight kills and two blocks.

Junior setter Kelsey Bartlett posted 23 assists and five digs, and teammate Nicole Bell added 15 digs, two kills, and three blocks.

SOUTH EUGENE 3, GRANTS PASS 0: At Grants Pass, South Eugene swept the Southwest Conference match, 25-15, 25-17, 25-23.

Grants Pass dropped to 5-10 overall and 3-7 in the SWC. South Eugene is 9-5 and 7-4.

Alexa Ryan posted five kills for Grants Pass while teammate Halee Rose contributed 14 digs.

Southern Cascade League

ROGUE RIVER 3, ST. MARY’S 0: At Rogue River, Kortney Moore helped the Chieftains to a 25-21, 25-11, 25-19 Southern Cascade League victory by registering 11 kills, 10 digs, three aces and three blocks.

Natalie Watkins posted 18 assists and six aces for Rogue River (7-9, 2-3 SCL), and teammate Angelica Pamplona racked up seven kills, 12 digs and two aces. Skye Downhill added three kills, five digs, four aces and three blocks.

Ashley Rietmann had three blocks and seven assists for St. Mary’s (6-13, 2-3 SCL) while Emily Eccleston and Asa Catt both added three kills.
