Eagles come up short against Lancers

EAGLE POINT — The Eagle Point volleyball team eked out a tight first set before dropping its next three games during Midwestern League action against Churchill on Friday.

The Lancers won, 24-26, 25-8, 25-14, 25-22.

Kylene Briggs had six kills, 13 digs, two blocks and two aces for the Eagles (1-8, 0-3 MWL).

Ryleigh Gainey added 12 digs and two kills, Kirsten Pariani three kills and 12 digs and Shaelynn Grady 12 digs against Churchill (2-5, 1-2).

Errors proved costly for Eagle Point.

BUTTE FALLS 3, CHILOQUIN 0: At Chiloquin, Raleigh Weaver had 10 kills and Butte Falls cruised in the Mountain Valley League match, 25-10, 25-9, 25-2.

Jade Stubbs served 14 straight points to end the match for the Loggers (5-2, 1-0 MVL).
