Sakraida homers twice for Chiefs
BONANZA — Tyler Sakraida had a big day as Rogue River earned a nonleague baseball split in a doubleheader against Bonanza, losing 9-4 and winning 6-5.
Sakraida homered in each game and went a combined 6-for-7 with six RBIs. He hit a two-run homer in the third inning of Game 1 and a three-run shot in the first in the opener. He also had a double in the first game and a triple in the second.
In the opening loss, the Chieftains (3-18) also got two hits each from Austin Mahnke, who scored twice, and Derek Nelson.
In the nightcap, Nelson was 2-for-4 with two runs.
