Haugen leads RVA past New Hope

GRANTS PASS — Trevor Haugen nearly had a double-double as Rogue Valley Adventist pulled away from New Hope Christian in the second half for a 45-33 boys basketball victory on Monday.

The Red Tail Hawks improved to 3-0 with the nonconference win.

Haugen, a 6-foot-4 senior post, had 16 points and nine rebounds for RV Adventist, which led 23-19 at halftime.

Nathaniel James added 15 points, six rebounds and three steals, and Isaiah Christensen, a 5-8 freshman, pulled down 12 rebounds to go with seven points and four steals.

NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN 44, RV ADVENTIST 41: At Grants Pass, New Hope Christian built a sizable lead in the first three quarters and held off Rogue Valley Adventist in nonconference play.

Hanna Wilhelms had 11 points, Zoe Belovitch 10 and Savanah Zamora nine points, seven rebounds and three assists for RV Adventist, which dropped to 1-2.
