Faust deals for North in win

ALBANY — When it comes to offensive efficiency, it’s difficult to top Kaison Faust.

The sharp-shooting senior scored 28 points while orchestrating the offense for North Medford in a 69-43 nonconference victory over West Albany on Saturday.

A 6-foot-2 wing, Faust shot 11 of 13 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line, adding six assists and six rebounds for the Black Tornado (5-1), which won its third in a row.

In addition to being a capable scorer, Faust is a willing passer when he draws double-teams, North coach Scott Plankenhorn said.

“He had a pretty huge night,” Plankenhorn said. “Our guys did good job of moving the ball and hitting him in the middle of the floor and he was able to dictate the game from there.”

Also for North, junior guard Garrett Parker added four blocked shots and 11 points, converting all three of North’s 3-pointers, and senior post Jake O'Connor chipped in seven rebounds and four assists.

Senior guard Jalen Handy scored 12 for the Bulldogs (2-4), who dropped their fourth straight and were held to 33 percent shooting from the field.
