GIRLS BASKETBALL: Chieftains fall short
LAKEVIEW — After roaring back twice, the Rogue River girls basketball team committed a few costly errors down the stretch allowing Lakeview to thwart the Chieftains’ comeback and reel in a 52-46 Southern Cascade League victory on Monday.
The Chieftains (16-8, 9-4 SCL) rallied from two eight-point deficits to pull within one point in the second quarter and again in the third but were unable to overtake the SCL’s co-leading squad.
Rogue River sits in third place behind Lakeview (12-12, 10-3) and Lost River (14-9, 10-3), which are tied for first place.
The Chieftains picked up nine points from Madison McKown and eight from Laura Howard.
